Brunson and Jackson Lead the Way
Team USA defeated Spain 95-81 in an exhibition match ahead of the FIBA World Cup on Monday, August 1.
Jalen Brunson led the way for the US with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Spain was led by Ricky Rubio, who had 15 points and 7 assists.
Team USA looked strong in the victory
Team USA looked much more like a gold-medal favorite in this game than they did in their previous two exhibition matches. They were more aggressive on defense and they shot the ball better.
The US also got a boost from the return of Kevin Durant, who had missed the previous two games with a hamstring injury. Durant finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Spain will be a tough opponent in the World Cup
Spain is still a very good team, and they will be a tough opponent in the World Cup. They have a lot of experienced players, and they are always well-coached.
