Lively Returns, Doncic Battling Knee Injury
The Dallas Mavericks received a boost on Monday with the return of Dereck Lively II. Lively had been sidelined for five games due to an injury, but he made his return in Monday's 125-120 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Doncic's Injury Status
Luka Doncic is currently listed as probable for Game 2 of the Mavericks' first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Doncic is battling a right knee injury, but he is expected to play through the pain.
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said that Doncic has been battling injuries throughout the series against the Clippers. However, Kidd believes that Doncic is tough enough to play through the pain.
"Luka is a warrior," Kidd said. "He's going to play through anything. He's not going to let a little pain keep him out of the lineup."
The Mavericks will need Doncic to be at his best if they want to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Doncic is the Mavericks' leading scorer and rebounder, and he is also one of the best playmakers in the NBA.
The Mavericks will face the Clippers in Game 2 on Tuesday night.
